How’s the weather in Australia?
Australia is located in the same hemisphere as Brazil - South Hemisphere. Therefore its climate is very similar to Brazil's and the seasons happen at the same period. In July, by the same time it is possible to go skiing in the south of Australia you can dive and get a tan in the Great Barrier Reef in the north. The mild climate allows the students to travel all over the country in any time of the year.

Can I work while studying?

Since 1st of December of 1998, students that wish to work must require a work authorization in one of DIMA (Department of Immigration an Multicultural Affairs) offices in Australia. The Student Visa that will be granted to you by the DIMA in the Australian Embassy has a condition that denies the students the permission to start working until they prove in Australia that their classes had already started.
Get in touch with the DIMA office that is closer to you in Australia to know the evidences that you have to provide that you are already studying. If you got the permission to work, the same will be granted to work a 20 hours maximum per week .

What courses can I do in Australia?
More than 1.000 institutions are registered to deliver courses to international students in Australia.
Australia has 4 main education and training sectors offering qualifications from Senior Secondary Certificate of Education to University PhD. These sectors are integrated so you can receive credit for previous study. You can move easily from one qualification level to the next, and from one institution to another.

My course will recognized in Brazil?

For a higher course to be recognized in Brazil the student needs to send its school record and grades taken in Australia to the Consulate General of Brazil in Sydney or to the Brazilian Embassy in Canberra.
These documents should be presented to the Brazilian Minister of Education so the credits can be recognized by its system of education. The students that have participated of the program "Study Abroad" (a year or a semester studying in an Australian University), must verify with its own college in Brazil to analyse if the credits taken in Australia will be accepted as a part of the course.

What happens if, when I finish my course I want to enrol in another course in Australia?

You can request another Student Visa in Australia before your current visa expires if you want to enrol in another course in Australia. You must show the same type of evidences that you have showed when you requested your first visa.

How to get a Visa?

The Australian Embassy in Brazil grants the visas to Australia. Students that choose courses with duration of less than 3 months should request a Short Stay Tourist Visa.
